Het is een oculair met een lange oogafstand van maar liefst 32 mm in plaats van 16mm bij standaard TSE-Z9B 20-60x oculair. Dit Long Eye Relief oculair heeft een vaste vergroting van 25x en een groothoek van 2,1° wat 36,7 meter zicht oplevert op 1000 meter afstand. De TSE-17HD is geschikt voor de Kowa Spotting Scopes uit de volgende series:
- Kowa TSN-660M serie
- Kowa TSN-82SV
- Kowa TSN-600 serie
Tevens past dit oculair ook op de volgende historische spotting scopes:
